About the Academy

A professional education and research communication organization.

JPE Academy is a professional education and research communication organization that helps individuals, researchers, educators, and institutions translate complex information into public understanding.

Founding vision

Journalism goes beyond reporting.

JPE Academy began with a conviction: that journalism is a tool for bridging divides, building understanding, and sparking change — and that the same discipline can help anyone who holds complex information carry it to the people it was created to serve.

Our work is grounded in journalism, research, education, and strategic communication, with an emphasis on the practical application of knowledge.

What began as specialized journalism education has grown into professional learning, research translation, and institutional training for universities, school districts, research teams, and organizations.

Intellectual foundation

The IPAR Method™

IPAR is an interpretive and communication framework, not a decision-making system. It gives journalists, researchers, and institutions a structured way to move from information to meaning.

The IPAR Method™ is JPE Academy’s signature methodology, informing our educational programs, professional training, and research translation services. IPARMethod.com is a distinct website dedicated to explaining the methodology.

The foundational publication

The IPAR Method™ was formally codified and published in 2023 by Nia Jovan Andrews, MJur, under Jones Publishing & Enterprises. Rather than presenting abstract communication theory, the workbook introduces a structured, replicable four-part methodology for translating complex information into clear, contextualized, narrative-driven public information.

Philosophy

What guides the work.

  • Preserve the depth and credibility of complex information
  • Separate claims, evidence, and meaning
  • Center the people information was created to serve
  • Connect understanding to useful resources
